all American town
this place is tight! talk about a well-run city. be sure to carry donuts for all of the board policeman LOL. it is going to be a little busier once the train stops here. there is some incredibly forward-thinking construction going on nearby. one of my favorite places is the Powder keg restaurant which is woman-owned, locally. fresh oysters anyone? can't beat their burgers either.

The Carnitas are so delicious! I had the platter with warm fresh flower tortillas, pico de gallo, Spanish rice and a spicy green sauce. With a little sour cream at home it was plenty for two people. I was not impressed by their pinto beans but maybe they were having an off day. happy to report the avocado slices were perfecto.

Historical haunts
there are some top-notch galleries, dive bars and even a bougie Cafe with Kundalini yoga not to mention amazing photo opportunities especially with the c&h sugar factory they're still operating. if you ever get a chance to take the Amtrak from Richmond to Vallejo you will get to see all of it. at night the refinery looks like something out of the 1927 film Metropolis. we all know good things come to an end but don't tell that to the roughnecks daughters who still run this town. you'll find them down it lakeman's chewing the fat over a cold beer or a game of 8-Ball

This is an amazing small museum in small town America. If you pop in on one of their event days be prepared for cookies! Look for the Clayton Bailey. He's famous and not just here in West Coco!

Great dog park with beach access. Next stop is more of the same with stunning views at both locations. Off leash with all sorts of grateful city dawgs enjoying a day at the shore. Bring the whole family and your well behaved pooch!

There are a few with the Warehouse in Port Costa California at the top of the list. With their sordid and haunted history you can almost feel the wild West in this town.
if you're a biker or a hem motorcycle enthusiasts you're going to love this place. there is lots of history, slice of haunted past and all those amazing beer selections at the Warehouse bar and grill

There's a full bar, juke box and tables nearby if you can't get rid of the kiddies first. After 10pm they stop serving full dinner and kids have to go home of course. Don't let the facade fool you. The food is great. Genuine family style restaurant that takes an entire evening usually. Enjoy!
