A great local swimming hole in the Rivanna River! Less than 5 minutes down the road. Take a right out of the driveway, go a few miles past Pleasant Grove Park, and less than a 1/4 mile past the sheriff's office and library, you will see Pleasant Grove dog park on the left. If you park at the dog park and follow a short trail marked with signs for Sandy Beach, you will arrive at a beautiful little swimming hole! Great place for a picnic as well!
Sandy Beach Trail

Sightseeing
Great downtown mall with tons of cute shops and restaurants! The Whiskey Jar is one of my personal favorites for a sit down meal. Marco and Luca's Dumpling shop is a great casual place to grab a bite to eat - and a local favorite! Water Street Parking Garage and Market Street Garage are great places to park and walk the mall.

Downtown Mall
Great downtown mall with tons of cute shops and restaurants! The Whiskey Jar is one of my personal favorites for a sit down meal. Downtown Palmyra is much smaller and more quaint than Charlottesville. There are a couple shops on main street, including Tote's McGoats Soap Shop. Village Station is a few streets over with a few adorable shops as well. Sweet Art Emporium (a shop with local art, jewelry, and candy), Glaze n' Blaze Pottery Painting, and Feather and Fowl Antique Shop. There is also a very short walking trail called the Rail Trail. You can park for free there, walk along the old railroad, and leave your car while you walk downtown!
Palmyra
Downtown Palmyra is much smaller and more quaint than Charlottesville. There are a couple shops on main street, including Tote's McGoats Soap Shop.
