Big Pit National Coal Museum is an Industrial Heritage Museum in Blaenavon, Torfaen, Wales. A working coal mine from 1880 to 1980, it was opened to the public in 1983. Free entry

The Ironworks which commenced production in 1789, is the best preserved blast furnace complex of its period and type in the world and is one of the most important monuments to have survived from the early part of the Industrial Revolution.
