Things to be aware of when driving into SF

Unfortunately, car break-ins are all too common. Do not leave anything in your car. Pay special attention to parking rules, including but not limited to: day and hour restrictions, duration restrictions, and curb/meter colors. Do not skip paying parking meter fees when leaving your car for an extended period of time. When parking on a slope, appropriately curb your wheels to avoid a citation. As a courtesy, try to limit your gap between parallel parked cars to 1ft/0.3m. In wide open spots, pull up closely to the car nearest to you.

Ridesharing and public transport are most convenient

We highly recommend utilizing ride share services such as Uber or Lyft if you are going into the city. This will make your travel much easier and will remove the stress of finding a parking spot. Please keep rush hour traffic in mind when traveling. Nearby transit stops include Bus lines: 24 Divisadero, 44 O’Shaughnessy, KT (K Ingleside-T Third Street), T Third Street Bus, 15 Bayview Hunters Point Express.. Freeway entrances to 280N and 101N are close by.

Come prepared for Bay Area's microclimates

If you are traveling around the Bay Area, pack your wardrobe accordingly. San Francisco and the peninsula are temperate year-round with fog, wind, and sun possible in one day. You will definitely want to bring a sweater or sweatshirt. Look at weather forecasts for every city you plan to visit.
