Hike the Pinhoti Trail, Alabama's beautiful long distance trail that is part of the Appalachian Mountain Range. The Pinhoti is a small portion of the Eastern Continental Trail that can connect you from Key West to Canada. The views are incredible, and you can choose an out and back type of day hike, or a point to point hike with support Call Nathan at the Pinhoti Outdoor Center for more information on The trail system, or anything outdoors! 205-202-9525

Our favorite place for day hikes and bike rides. Lake Howard offers fishing, boat docks, kayak/canoe rentals, picnic pavilion, some of the most beautiful trails (rated easy to moderate) Lake Howard is also home to the Finish of the Pinhoti 100 trail run the first weekend in November.

The Sanctuary is located midway between Goodwater and Sylacuaga. Sylacauga actually offers more including great shopping and restaurants. On hwy 280 and our historic Downtown area. Restaurants: Choose from many fastfood, or some of our local favorites list above! Shopping: There are several boutique style shops downtown as well as The Craft Studio, and the Fermenter's market. Park your car, and walk the three blocks of down town to see our shops, restaurants and take some pics in front of our beautiful marble sculptures.
