If you do one thing while visiting Medicine Park I would highly suggest making the drive up to the top of Mount Scott. The views are amazing and there are plenty of rocks to climb on and explore. It's truly amazing!

Probably one of the most unique features of Medicine Park. Located in the center of town is a swimming hole like no other. Waterfalls, stairs, and bridges adorn this beautiful river. You can pay to swim or grab a drink or snack and just enjoy the sounds of crashing water. One of our kids favorites!
59,000 acre refuge says it all! Many activities to do such as fishing, camping, hunting, hiking, and biking. So much to see here and if you are really up for a challenge the exploring is almost limitless.

This is really a hidden gem. I personally believe this lake is underused and has some of the most beautiful backdrops of any lake in the area. The marina is well equipped for any outings you find yourself on and the fishing is superb.

If you are looking at our listing then you probably know what Medicine Park has to offer. It was founded in 1908 as Oklahoma's first resort town. It's amazing to see it grow while still retaining the small town feel. Some of our favorites of the area are the Bath Lake, walking along the Medicine Creek pathways, visiting all the cool shops, and stopping in to eat at the unique restaurants. If you are traveling without kids we suggest you stop in at the Tavern for a cold drink or to see live music. Check out the Medicine Park website (https://medicinepark.com/festivals/) to see when local festivals are going on. The music scene is my personal favorite! Most weekends you will find multiple bands playing throughout the town. The biking and hiking trails are must for any adventurer too.

If you have ever been to the Passion Play in Eureka Springs then you will enjoy this. I grew up going to Eureka Springs so when we heard about this place we were so excited to visit!

Great place to eat with a beautiful view of the river. Their menu covers a lot of different foods. You can get to go orders and they will even bring the food to you at the Tavern next door. If it's a busy weekend be prepared for a wait. We usually just get to go if its too busy.

Located across the street from Bath Lake. This place is pretty big but will still get packed on the busy weekends. The menu has great variety. They have a full service bar and great food.

This is really an iconic place in Medicine Park. Great tacos and really cool atmosphere. You can see great bands playing here on festival weekends. I would definitely give them a try!

This is the only place in town to grab some adult drinks for your stay. Great selection. They do close a little early so if you want to stock up on your favorite beverage I would suggest to go in early.

Ok, this is a family favorite of ours. Homemade style ice cream with many creative flavors. It located next to The Old Plantation and straight across from the swimming hole. I wouldn't miss this if you have a sweet tooth!

Don't forget to bring quarters for the toy vending machines for your kids.

If you are planning a trip out on Lake Lawtonka then this place will get you stocked. They sell my favorite beef jerky (Mikes Famous Beef Jerky) so it's a must stop for me.

Some things to remember...
Medicine Park is a beautiful historic small town. Being a tourist hot spot means that weekends are busy and weekdays are much more relaxed. Many of the shops and restaurants will have limited hours during the early days of the week with some of them being closed for those few days. If you are planning your trip during the week I would suggest bringing a few food items just to be safe. We usually stop in Elgin, OK on the way into Medicine Park and visit their local grocery store for any supplies. Also, don't forget bug spray and sun screen!
