Mercado do Bolhão is the most tradicional market in the heart of Porto. An entire block that remains in its original form since decades, and this is where you can see & smell the essence of the Tripeiros (this is how people from Porto is called).
The place to go for your fresh fruit & vegetables, meat & fish, tradicional products such different kinds of bread, sweets, wines & olives, among others. You can also have a meal or buy some souvenirs.
In August 2016 some reconstruction process started but it's not until the end of 2017 that the market will close for it's full reconstruction!
Can you imagine the building from the 19th century appearing with all its splendour?? :)
