Tainui Reserve can be accessed from just around the corner in Awarua Crescent. It has several very nice walking tracks which can be strung together for up to an hours walk, or a shorter walk if you prefer.

Great walking tracks. Also a couple of mountain bike tracks. Fantastic views from the top. You can get to the top by driving and walking. There is a carpark at the bottom of Tauroa Rd. The walk from there takes about an hour to the top. You can also start you walk rom the Main Gates, on Te Mata Peak Rd. There is a big network of tracks. Information and maps can be found by Googling Te Mata Peak tracks.
