Local curiosities
When you are in the Trevi Sail vacation home you get always informed about if the President of Italian Republic is in town or is traveling for his duties! Just go to the window on via delle Muratte, and give a look. You can see something like this (this picture is taken from our window). What is important is that if the President is in town there are three flags that fly over their own flagpole: the European blue flag with stars, that you see on the left, the Italian green, white and red flag in the center, and the Presidential flag, that you see in the picture on the right. If the President is out of town, on the contrary, you will see the European and the Italian flags, but the presidential flag will be lowered, and you will not see it flying.

Parking garages useful for Trevi Sail
The parking place very close to the apartment is Parking Colonna, in Via Santa Maria in Via, 11. One should get in touch with them, since we are in the limited traffic region and they will have to give a permit. If it is ok to park a bit farer Parking Esedra, Piazza della Repubblica Parking and Villa Borghese SABA are possible good choices, very probably chipper than Colonna.

More about Colonna Parking
Parking Colonna is very close to Trevi Sail. Still, they cannot give entrance permits to the limited traffic zone (ZTL) where the apartment is located. So if one wants to use them one has to enter when the ZTL is not active.
The center is CLOSED:
6.30-18.00 from Monday to Friday (but for holidays)
14.00-18.00 on Saturday (but for holidays)
ant one can enter in all other times.

Michelin stars
On a very personal and idiosyncratic note, as confirmed from Michelin in November 2023 for the year 2024, if you are looking for restaurants with Michelin stars we surely love Il Pagliaccio with two stars, and Glass Hostaria, Convivio Troiani and Orma by Roy Caceres with one star. There are many other wonderful starred restaurants, and this is only from our personal experience and point of view.

Three simple and very good "Trattorie" 1/2
Maybe you are interested in a simple restaurant with very good simple food based on genuine ingredients, and prices that are not too high? This is what in Italy we call a Trattoria. In this case, we have three proposals for you, all close to Trevi Sail.
1. Armando al Pantheon. Salita de’ Crescenzi 31, Roma. A real historical reality. Amatriciana pasta and past with pajata (lamb interiors), spaghetti with carbonara sauce, or all of the "Roman pastas" (gricia, cacio e pepe), abbacchio scottadito (lamb), Roman saltimbocca (jump in your mouth) meat...

A new place, with food similar to the one described above.
3. Colline Emiliane. Via degli Avignonesi 22,
Roma.
This is very good food from Emilia, an Italian region close to
Bologna. Wonderful pasta with meat sauces, tortelloni (filled pasta),
many kinds of salami, very good meat.

The elevator of our building
There is something very interesting about our elevator. First look at the main door of the building. There is a beautiful, very old (1600) grid above the door. Now look at the iron door of the elevator. It carries the same drawing. Indeed this elevator door is an important artistic artifact. It has been designed in the 1970s from Albert Friscia, an Italo-American sculptor that was living in the building, that has designed and built the doors of the Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, and an altar in the San Peter Basilica, in Rome. It was given to the building as a gift from him.

A nice Gymn close to home: H2O concept.
Some of our guests are interested in a Gym close to home. One we know is H2Oconcept, in via della Pilotta 16/18, very close to our apartments. We are not allowed to quote here the link of their website but you can easily find it on the web.
It is a very nice place.
We have enquired on October 2023, and a daily pass is at this moment at 29E.
