Gym

Great gym (it's actually the one I go to!), 10 min away from the apartment. The charge is of €17.50 for the daily pass. Staff is very friendly, gym is clean, it is rarely too busy and there are also an offering of classes. https://www.anytimefitness.co.uk/gyms/uk-0053/kilmainham-dublin/

Activities

This one is a given. Its main entrance is less than 5 minutes away from the apartment. It is the largest urban park in Europe and there is much to explore. You can literally spend a day walking around the park and seeing all its attractions. - Right by the entrance, on the right hand side, you will find some gardens, with children playground and a pond full of ducks! - The deers can be spotted at several locations throughout the park; - Papal cross; - Wellington Obelisk; - Magazine Fort; - Visitor's Centre - great stop for a coffee and cake! - Dublin Zoo; - Áras an Uachtaráin, which is the residence of the president of Ireland; - Farmleigh - the official Irish state guest house. Lovely walk and with great gardens to check out! I also highly encourage going off tracks and exploring the park through the woods too!

One of my favourite cinemas in Dublin is also just a short walk away from the apartment. Aside from its colourful chairs, it's also one of the few cinemas in town in which you can grab a wine from its bar and have it with you while watching the movie!

Depending on the type of activities that you enjoy, this is a very nice one to do on a nice weather. You could potentially kaiak up until the front of the weather depending on the water levels of the river and it is a great opportunity to see Dublin through a different angle and see all the bridges linking the north and south side :)

At the heart of City Centre, definitely worth a stop if you are walking around. Grab a sandwich in one of the many places around city centre and have a sit down on the garden while you eat. It also houses a free museum to explore, the Chester Beatty Museum Dublin Castle is a major Irish government complex, conference centre, and tourist attraction, of significant historical importance. It is located off Dame Street in central Dublin. Until 1922 it was the seat of the British government's administration in Ireland.

This one here is a bit of a walk away from City Centre, but it is one of the best cinema experience in town (can be a bit pricey too!). This cinema was originally opened in 1923 and it was recently restored to reflect the glamour and glitz of the 1920’s for an entire new generation of movie-goers. The neighbourhood its located in, Rathmines is also a great place to explore with some really nice restaurants, bars and brunch places

Neighbourhoods

Great area of Dublin to explore and spend the day if the weather is nice. You can get the train (Dart) from city centre and be there in just 30 min. The coastal suburb of Dún Laoghaire is popular for strolls on the East Pier, and locally caught fish and chips. The National Maritime Museum of Ireland has nautical art and artefacts inside a 19th-century sailors’ church, while the harbour is a busy hub for fishing, water sports and cruises. Nearby Sandycove is home to the James Joyce Tower and Museum, as well as the sheltered beach and bathing spot at Forty Foot.

Howth is an Irish village on the Howth Peninsula, east of central Dublin. The village has a pier and some nice restaurants and fish and chips place for you to nibble, but I would highly suggest starting by exploring the clifftop walk. Has one of the most gorgeous views in town and has a nice hidden beach as well. Great to spend the day if you like hiking!

Another place worth paying a visit. Just a short train journey away from town and with a good offering of restaurantes and walks around for you to spend the day.
