This family-owned fish restaurant and market is on US 41 just north of Hancock. The fresh fish they serve and sell has only been out of Lake Superior for a few hours. We love the fish tacos. Yum!

Right on US 41 on the south edge of Mohawk, this bakery is worth a stop to gather not just baked goods, but regional jams and jellies (at more affordable prices than some 'other' bakery) ! He also has interesting 'things' for sale. Highly recommend.

This 19th c. US Army outpost at the far north end of Copper Harbor has wonderful, historic displays that recreate the military lifestyle on the Lake Superior frontier all those years ago. Very much worth the visit to this Michigan State Park location.

The drive up to the top of Mt. Brockway off of M-26 is lovely, and the view from the top is unparalleled. On clear days you can see Isle Royale National Park to the north, and Lake Superior vistas for miles and miles. The verdant forests on the south side, with migrating raptors soaring past, are just as spectacular. Sunsets viewed from the top are a special treat. Note: the road has some rough spots - take it easy!

The National Park Service conducts highly recommended tours of this historic copper mine shaft, both above and below ground. A tour of Quincy will definitely bring the copper mining era of our region into superb focus. HIGHLY recommend!

This 45-room historic mansion, built by a copper baron during the height of the copper boom, is an excellent choice for something to do on a day you might need a break from outside activities! Well worth the visit!

Mt. Bohemia near Lac La Belle is the premier ski hill in the upper midwest, but that's not all! In the summer and fall, enjoy the Nordic Spa with a huge hot tub, a lovely swimming pool, a cold plunge, and a steam sauna. (check website for day pass info to the Spa & pool amenities.) Additionally, the Log bar poolside features great homemade, wood-grilled pizzas. Check their website for summer info and pictures. In the fall, enjoy a ride up the ski lift to gaze at the spectacular fall colors. (weather permitting). Dates for the fall color rides are determined by when the colors start to peak! Highly recommend Mt. Bohemia for Nordic Spa and pizza!!

The Keweenaw County Historical Society operates 11 interesting sites in 8 locations throughout the Keweenaw. All have been carefully restored (or are continuing restoration!), and much of the annual upkeep and hosting is done by volunteers. Well worth a visit to any of them!
