The Sandy Point Lighthouse Beach is a tidal beach that grows in size as the tide ebbs. At low tide a glistening stretch of golden sand links the Sandy Point Lighthouse to the shoreline. The shallow waters, rock pools and proximity to the Sandy Point Community Centre (for snacks and washrooms) makes this a very popular beach with local families. Our sons, love it there - it is always their first choice. For them there are sand castles to build, seashells, starfish and other treasures to be found. And the fact that it is an 8-minute drive from the center of Shelburne makes it very convenient. Shorewood Housem, Elm Tree Cottage and Captain McLean's Carriage House in Shelburne to the Sandy Point Lighthouse Beach.

This hike is a spectacular hike. No I do have the warn you there is constantly going up or down hills. The path is “rug it I would strongly recommend good hiking boots with a strong ankle support. The views are quite spectacular you can look down over lakes and trees and more trees. There is no facilities on the trail. There’s not a lot of people I saw on the trail. Cell phone reception is spotty at best. The best seem to be at the top of the hills. Make sure you bring lots of water.

Not recommended for young children. Enjoy walking along the beach searching for amethyst, agate and other amazing rocks! Look for seals, whales, bald eagles, and other animals as you make your way to Amethyst Slide. We’ve seen each of these animals here at some point. The beach is covered in collectible rocks so you will want to stop every 10 seconds to pick one up, but remember you will need to climb back up a 500ft ridge on your return! Approx 1hour 40 min drive away
