This is definitely the best delivery pizza around. It's thin crust and a huge pie. They have a full Italian menu, but we've only tried their pizza. Try their Pesto Pizza Bianca or the La Mamma if you like fresh ricotta. It's not particularly atmospheric, but you can walk there as well and sit down for a slice. It's on Manchester about a block and a half beyond Pershing.

The vegetarian and vegan restaurant serves food that is hearty and delicious and beautifully presented in a lovely setting on Abbot Kinney. It appears most popular for brunch, but I've only dined there at the bar on artichokes served like lamb chops and a roasted beet salad with spinach, vegan cashew ricotta, caramelized candied walnuts and a beet dressing. Everything was satisfying and memorable.

This is a great place to stroll around and see some lovely cottage houses (and some larger modern ones) that sit on the water. You'll see ducks as well, and you can make your way over to Venice Beach after by crossing Pacific.

Los Liones Trail weaves up a lush canyon at the south end of Topanga State Park, just a mile from the ocean. You can make it quite a long hike if you wish, and do the 7 mile loop to Parker Mesa Overlook where you'll have sweeping views of the Ocean all the way out to Catalina as well as inland to the San Bernadino Mountains.

510 Los Liones DrLos Liones Trail weaves up a lush canyon at the south end of Topanga State Park, just a mile from the ocean. You can make it quite a long hike if you wish, and do the 7 mile loop to Parker Mesa Overlook where you'll have sweeping views of the Ocean all the way out to Catalina as well as inland to the San Bernadino Mountains.
A lovely park in the Santa Monica Mountains with numerous hiking trails of various lengths. At the base of the park, there's a historic museum that was Will Rogers' ranch house. The park also has horseback riding lessons and trail rides, and you can bring a picnic (from Bay Cities) and watch polo matches that occur every weekend in summer (Saturdays from 2-5 and Sundays from 10-1). Be forewarned, though it is a park, parking is $12 per car.
