Great place to visit for the day or summer evening. Outlet shopping, bars, restaurants, cinema, bowling alley. Drive to Gosport and catch the ferry over to Portsmouth - adds to the adventure!

Fantastic cafe right on the river. Beautiful views, and great coffee and food. Good walks along the river, dog friendly.

Fun Day out
Peppa Pig World is a wonderful place for toddlers and young kids. Meet Peppa and George, do lots of activities, and go on all the lovely rides (not scary!). I took my son when he was 5 and he absolutely loved it. It's about half an hour drive away (depending on traffic).
Paultons Park is the main amusement/theme park suitable for kids too, as well as adults. Bigger rides, dinosaurs, all sorts!

Catch the ferry from Gosport:
Lots of lovey cafes and restaraurants. Sit outside in the sun watching the big boats coming in from France and the Isle of Wight.
Go up the Spinnaker Tower for views across the city and the Solent.
Cinema and bowling alley for rainy days.
Loads of outlet shopping!
Combine with a trip to the historic dockyard

Beaulieu
Lovely village on the river with car museum.
Beautiful countryside, great walks, biking, horseriding, country pubs, restaurants, etc, etc. Be careful of holiday traffic heading to the Forest on sunny days though. The A31 can be a nightmare!

Great day out visiting HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose. Combine it with a trip to Gunwharf Quays for a really full day. Drive to Gosport and catch the ferry across to Portsmouth
