Very basic and inexpensive southern style italian cuisine. No one goes for the vine-draped setting but they do go for large portions of affordable food. It's BYOB policy and a liquor store across the street make it easy. Try the Putanesca!

A great breakfast location walkable from Deer Cove House. Locals often frequent the breakfast scene which has great pancakes among other typical breakfast foods. Their lovely bakery offerings are great too.

A hole in the wall Thai restaurant better suited for take out but perfectly fine to sit there too. The crispy pad thai, although not traditional, is great. I also love their Tom Yum noodle soup too. Better still, order to-go and sit at the beach and eat there.

Large, bright vietnamese with the typical vermicelli's, Pho, among others with an affordable price tag. I usually get Vermicelli with spring rolls and grilled shrimp. It's informal so you'll be eating with the locals.

More pub than restaurant but with a dining room facing the ocean. Although the food is uninspired, many love the beers, burgers, watching the game and of course the ocean views. And it's a lovely walk along the beach back to Deer Cove House.

The location on the Lynnway makes this easy to always find a table since it's big. The typical offerings are all good especially when they offer the snapper special. It's also affordable too and filled with locals. You must love bright decor however lol.

Always busy and filled with young hipsters but with great food and margaritas. This is the hipster and slightly more pricy version of the other restaurants I mentioned. Best part is it's part of the Salem restaurant scene which has lots to offer.

See a wide array of performers in a renovated auditorium setting from the 1940's. All seats are excellent so buy a cheap ticket in the balcony and enjoy. I've seen Pat Benatar, Air Supply, Melissa Etheridge, Natalie Cole and Ann Wilson of Heart. Many tickets were just $39.

This is an excellent starting point for the Murals self-guided tours. 15 Murals painted by international artists adorn several downtown buildings portraying Lynn's current heritage.
