The tour will conclude with a visit to a local food court where guests will have the opportunity to savor Tijuana's fusion cuisine, also known as Baja-Med. Next I will give a land lesson on the basics of surfing, we will practice different pop-up techniques so you're more comfortable in the water. Then we will go out into the water and I will help you get some waves and start surfing! Afterwards we'll carry the boards back to where we started. In our Experience, offered through Total Raptor Experience San Diego, you'll learn how to call and release one of our trained birds using a falconry glove, and admire their aerial skills while they soar above the cliffs. You'll get an up-close and personal view of their mastery of flight as they perform simulated hunting behaviors, swooping, ground-skimming and diving at high speed after a moving target. At the same time we will discuss raptor flight styles and how they contribute to the diverse ecologies of different types of hawks and falcons. There will be plenty of time for questions and pictures with our birds. My hope is to send you home with a new, or perhaps renewed, love for these majestic predators and the environment. After a brief safety and snorkel etiquette talk, we will explore the area for one hour. I will point out and provide detailed information on the flora and fauna we encounter during the experience! *If you are a non-swimmer, feel free to book a private tour and/or message me to see if this is the right experience for you. La Jolla Bay is a Marine Protected Area that is home to a thriving ecosystem that boasts a high concentration of sea life, has a natural boat launch, which allows safe ocean entry year-round, and is famous for its Sea Caves and Marine Reserve. No experience is required. Great for all skill levels. Your guide will kick things off with a paddle tutorial on the beach. If surf exists, we will help push your kayak through any breakers. As we paddle through La Jolla’s Marine Reserve keep an eye out for Seals, Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, Pelicans, Dolphin and Gray whales in the fall/winter. Note: We cannot guarantee sea life. If conditions are safe, we will help guide your kayak into Emerald Cave. If it's not safe to enter Emerald Cave, we will still paddle out & explore La Jolla's World-Famous Marine Reserve. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the operators of the sanctuary and we will talk to you about our animals, provide a tour, and describe how and why our rescue animals ended up at the sanctuary. Then you will be given time to interact with any animals of your choice. You can groom, socialize, feed, water, clean horse stalls and other enclosures, or simply spend time with our animals. You will be able to take photos throughout the day. It is a great opportunity to disconnect and become grounded. You can forget about the outside for a couple of hours, as this sanctuary can be very therapeutic and healing. You will understand the value of patience and trust as you interact with some animals that have been traumatized and given up on. We're hosting a "safari style" tour of the beautiful wine country in Temecula Valley! Unlike a honey farm, we manage 75+ rescued beehives at this location that were in danger of extermination. Update: We have been OPEN and SAFE since May, 2020 The La Jolla Ecological Reserve is the premiere kayak and snorkeling spot on California’s coast. To fully interact with all the amazing sea life in the area, our kayak and snorkel tour is a great option. The coolest part bout this experience is you get to see what's above and below the water! We kayak over by Sunny Jim's cave, where your guide will anchor the kayaks together. While snorkeling we see sea lions, seals, bat rays, Garibaldi (Nemo's Cousin), and sometimes sea turtles. Note: we cannot guarantee what sea life or any sea life we will encounter. La Jolla Bay is the premier snorkeling spot along Southern California's coast, but there are days that the visibility might only be 5 feet or can be as good as 50 feet. This tour is 2 hours and typically we snorkel for 20-30 minutes, max. Being able to swim is advised. Guests are picked up in beautiful Temecula Wine Country. Jump on board our vehicle and leave the driving to us. From pick up they will enjoy a 4.5 hour tour of Wine Country. Guests visit 3 premium Temecula Wineries with 4-6 tastings at each winery per person. Guests also get to experience a behind-the-scenes tour at one of the wineries.
