One of the famous coffees, the one on the Julia Roberts’s movie eat pray and love. Very good coffe!
La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro could be mistaken for a tourist trap because of its location right in front of the Pantheon, but it’s far from it. “Just go there after 7pm or early in the mornings, and the tourists should be gone,” says Barbieri. Romans love this venue, especially during the summer…
PANTHEON SPECIAL COFFEE: If you are near the Pantheon you must try "granita al caffè con panna" (the coffee granita with cream). Every time I pass there I can't resist ... I must have one! Here you can try the real Italian espresso.
One thing you cannot miss while in Rome is the "granita di caffè con panna" (crushed ice with coffee and whipped cream") they make in this place close by the Pantheon. It is always super-busy, not a place to sit down - just buy your granitas and taste them on the go, or sit down on the steps around…

“When in Rome, you must drink espresso. Drip coffee and Starbucks don’t exist here. There are some unspoken rules if you don’t want to look like a tourist when ordering. First, cappuccinos are only drunk at breakfast. After that, order un caffè(a shot of espresso) or un caffè macchiato (a shot of espresso with a dollop of steamed milk). If you ask for a latte, you’ll simply get milk. In the hotter months, ask for un caffè freddo (cold espresso sweetened with loads of sugar) or crema di caffè (the Roman equivalent of a frappuccino). Two of the most famous cafés are Tazza d’Oro and Caffè Sant’Eustachio.”

“A little hidden gem close to Piazza Navona, this tiny pasticceria focuses on the sweet traditions of Rome. Much appreciated by locals, it is not very well known by tourists, which makes it the perfect place to visit. Must try: Antichi Romani, Maritozzi ”

“Historic tavern since 1961 a stone's throw from the wonderful Pantheon. the specialties are those typical of Rome, with a sensitivity to the quality of raw materials. Alongside the "Bollitto alla Picchiapò", the Artichoke alla Romana, the Baccalà and, of course, the Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe and Amatriciana, one of the dishes to taste is the Armando-style meatballs, which are indeed a dish of the Capitoline tradition.”
