Pedras del Rei is a beautiful, laid-back, touristic complex that is open to everyone (not just guests). A few restaurants, bars and cafés. Perfect place to go after dinner. Very kid-friendly.

Not everyone likes a sandy beach and until very recently this 90s built resort just outside Santa Luzia allowed non paying guests to use their large outdoor pool and facilities. This it seems has all changed and in July and August expect to get turned away Out of peak months they will no doubt return to normal service but this is fairly standard behaviour from hotels during peak season. Nice pool side bars and restaurant and heated pool. Parking can be tricky although if you are resourceful you will always find something.

Down by the river side you can get on a litlle train that will lead you to Praia do Barril, an ancient tuna station was operating there. Ancient anchors and boat recks are still laying around there.
