They say this stairs were walked by Jesus. The Romans stole it from where it was and brought it to Rome. If you want to walk them, you have to do it on your knees. You can see it from outside too!
Head for the Scala Sancta to get your wishes fulfilled. Any wish actually. Supposedly being the stairs Jesus Christ walked on in the palace of Pontius Pilatus, a medieval pope had it moved to Rome.
