San Francisco's Golden Gate park is beautiful and this museum is right in the middle. Check their website for current shows and events.
One of the more diverse art museums. Check out their website to see if they have anything interesting on display.
The de Young Museum, located in Golden Gate Park, is another must-see place. It has great exhibits, cool architecture, and a great view of the park from the top.
Rebuilt after our 1989 earthquake. It was designed by Herzog and de Meuron. The adjoining tower is free to the public. It has good views.
Wonderful museum. Make sure to go to the top of the tower for an amazing view of the City.

“What to say? One of the great parks of the United States. Just head down the hill to Kezar Stadium (at the very bottom of Willard Street) and you'll see the GGP right beyond it (walk around Kezar to the west to enter the park). You can also enter on Stanyan and Haight (and at many other points). Enjoy the Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Stow Lake, the Conservatory of Flowers (great night time light shows in the summer and winter) and many, many other features of the park.”

“Built in 1879 this building is all old world class and one of my favorite places to enjoy lunch in front of. If you love flowers, then venture inside as well.”
