Fantastic art museum with consistently interesting and changing exhibitions, again 10 minutes walk. Their gift shop makes bringing home souvenirs for family so easy! And you must go up to the tower to see the view of the park and city from the top.
A diverse collection of fine arts in a building with a dramatic copper facade in Golden Gate Park.
It’s located in the middle of Golden Gate Park. They have wonderful seasonal exhibits and there are several things you can do while in GGP as well. There’s also a fantastic viewing deck that you can view almost the entirety of SF.
A fairly new museum with a tower for great views. Its got a large variety of interesting art on display, and a ticket here gets you into the Legion of Honor muesum and vice versa. A great deal! The area around here is very scenic as well.

“What to say? One of the great parks of the United States. Just head down the hill to Kezar Stadium (at the very bottom of Willard Street) and you'll see the GGP right beyond it (walk around Kezar to the west to enter the park). You can also enter on Stanyan and Haight (and at many other points). Enjoy the Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Stow Lake, the Conservatory of Flowers (great night time light shows in the summer and winter) and many, many other features of the park.”

“The Conservatory of Flowers is a gigantic greenhouse of exotic plants in Golden Gate Park. It was built in 1878 and survived the 1906 Earthquake. After being damaged by storms in 1996, the Conservatory was taken apart piece by piece and restored using old growth redwood that had fallen or had been left behind by loggers. With a Hall of Flowers inside, stunning green ramparts of flowers and grass outside, and a Dahlia garden that will take your breath away when in season, the Conservatory is a favorite place for San Franciscans to picnic and enjoy the sun.”
