From Trip Advisor: Humpback rocks trail (that starts right across the BRP) was an excellent hike....The view from the top of the trail was magnificent. Would highly recommend this hiking trail!

Located at MP 5.8 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, this hike is very popular in the area and leads to a rock outcrop that offers spectacular views of the valley.

A more difficult hike about a 1-hour drive from the farm. Parking is available but the hike is not dog friendly. Views from Humpback Rock are some of the best in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is also near wineries and fun dining options (near Afton, VA).

One of the quicker hikes, but still a wonderful view at the summit, very uphill on the way to the top, but downhill on the way back

Bryggeri
“This is the biggest, most renown Brewery in the area only 1 min from the cabin. It has great brunch, lunch & dinner food. They have tons of outdoor seating or you can get curbside pickup which is an excellent, easy option. As a heads up, if eating there you’ll want to make a reservation the day before or as early as possible to get a table. It is super popular! ”

“Crabtree Falls, the highest vertical-drop cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River, is a popular attraction located in Nelson County, just six miles off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway near milepost 27. Crabtree Falls features a series of five major cascades and a number of smaller ones that fall a total distance of 1,200 feet. The first overlook is just a few hundred feet from the parking lot along a gentle, paved trail making it an excellent stopover for travelers of all ages and abilities. The more adventuresome hiker may continue along the 3-mile trail to four other overlooks offering spectacular views of the Crabtree Creek Falls and lovely vistas of the Tye River Valley. From the upper falls, the trail follows the creek another 1.2 miles to the Crabtree Meadows. Open dawn to dusk. Parking lot with daily parking fee per vehicle. Located on State Route 56.”

Pub
“A must see! This is our all time favorite place around here. Great food, great cider, great employees. Lots of fun live music & events (check their calendar). There is a ton of outdoor seating with Mountain Views, but the indoor seating is just as beautiful with a cozy fireplace. My brother Lindsay Dorrier helps run Bold Rock & would love for you to stop by! Make a reservation or go as early as possible! It is very popular! ”
