Balluta Bay is a small beach in St. Julian's, ideal not only for swimming but also for romantic evening walks Balluta Bay has a tiny sandy beach with light green water. The sliver of sand in Balluta Bay is mostly visible during low water levels during summer and has a rocky shoreline with plenty of flat rocks to sunbathe on, with clear waters excellent for swimming, water sports and snorkelling. The bay is also a popular diving spot for beginners, since it has a sandy seabed. The beach in Balluta Bay is located just below the popular promenade that stretches from Sliema to St. Julian’s and is very popular for brisk walks or light strolls The beach is just in front of the Carmelite Church

Balluta Bay on the northern edge of Sliema lets the clear waters of the Med roll over white-tinted pebbles. On one side, the Gothic filigrees of the Carmelite Parish Church draw the eye. Behind is a bustling piazza where you can sit with a coffee and watch the world go by. During the summer months, Balluta Bay is a favourite local swimming spot. More of a classic beach than the rocky headlands elsewhere in the town, it's got space for laying the towel and soaking up the rays. You might want to bring the snorkel along, too – there are some interesting fish-filled reefs lining the bay.

Beautiful Balluta - the square has plenty of nice cafes and restaurants, and there is a small man made beach at certain times of the year - just next to Neptune's our nearest big swimming pool.
