At 3,491 feet, Mount Greylock is the highest point in Massachusetts. From its peak on a clear day, you can see as far as 90 miles away. No matter when you visit, there's plenty to do & see. Drive up, hike around, picnic with panoramic mountain views around you.

At 3,491 feet, Mount Greylock is the highest point in Massachusetts. Rising above the surrounding Berkshire landscape, dramatic views of 60-90 miles distant may be seen. It became Massachusetts' first wilderness state park, acquired by the Commonwealth in 1898, to preserve its natural environment for public enjoyment. Drive up the 8 mile road to the summit or hike a rugged section of the 11-mile stretch of the Appalachian Trail. The reservation has dozens of trails you can explore, Thunderbolt, Hopper, Stony Ledge, Bellows Pipe, Mt. Prospect, CCC Dynamite, and Bernard Farm are the more noted trails.
