Located in the old Library in the Arts Centre, The Central offers a beautiful and welcoming space that brings people and art together. They showcase established contemporary New Zealand artists while also always keeping their experienced eye on upcoming and promising artists of the future. In its historic, elegant venue, The Central hosts exhibition openings, private events, and arts groups. Everyone is welcome to view both their continuously updating artist exhibitions as well as the collection in the extensive stock room. Stay a while, perhaps taking a seat in the reading area, relax and enjoy the experience of great art. Open Tuesdays – Sundays, 10am – 5pm.
