One of my favourite spot to enjoy the view over Oslo and the fjord. It is a very old restaurant/café (you can also eat small food from the buffet) right above the Holmenkollen ski jump. Perfect if you also want to combine the ski jump and/or a walk in the first around.

Frognerseteren metro stop offers a great starting point for hiking in the forest, and there is a great view over the city. There is also a big cafeteria near the metro station, and a lake for swimming. You can also easily hike to the old tv-tower Tryvannstårnet (which is not open) and in the winter there is a ski resort open here with a nice skislope. Also good for cross country in the winter time in this area. You can hike to numerous places, cottages and forest cafes from Frognerseteren, like Nordmarkskapellet, Tryvannsstua and many more.

Expensive but a nice view. Take the tram up from Majorstua.

It is both food and sigtseeing place. You can get the traditional Norwegian waffle with brown cheese, get outside and njoy the view over the city
