This monument to SF firefighters also happens to be the summit of a glute-burning 400 steps. If you want to do something active and just kind of move your body, there’s a narrow staircase that starts at the base of the Levi Strauss headquarters and winds up to Coit Tower. I wouldn’t recommend trying to sprint these stairs. Once at the top, there is a grassy knoll that is perfect for doing some plank and core work. Bring some pocket change, and take the elevator all the way up to the top of Coit Tower. There’s a snack shop where you can get a Gatorade to gulp down, and the views are pretty amazing.
Tips från lokalbefolkningen
Coit Tower is a 210-foot tower in the Telegraph Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California, offering panoramic views over the city and the bay. The tower, in the city's Pioneer Park, was built between 1932 and 1933 using Lillie Hitchcock Coit's bequest to beautify the city of San Francisco
Incredible iconic SF views. I'd recommend walking up from North Beach. It's a strenuous but very beautiful hike up!
Great views of the city. The lower level of the tower has some very interesting murals from the 1940's. Visitors can view them for free. You can also often see the birds of Telegraph hill by going up the Filbert steps. There are many beautiful garden on that route as well. If you don't want to climb all the stairs, we recommend accessing the tower from North Beach.
