Always something interesting to see for free. Nations most incredible collection of Indigenous art. Ever-changing exhibitions, childrens Play space and tranquil native gardens for a picnic lunch. Love the NGA!
To truly grasp Australian art culture, a visit to the NGA should not be missed. The permanent collection alone is worth the visit. Not to mention the outdoor sculpture park where one can sit and enjoy a picnic. The NGA is also easily accessible by bike with a scenic ride around the lake.
See Jackson Pollock's Blue Poles or any of Sidney Nolans Ned Kelly series - a wonderful way to spend a few hours at any time of the year. Also make sure you visit the James Turrell's sculpture in the garden entrance of the Gallery.

Stop and admire the tulips, take in a horticultural workshop and get your photo taken in front of the stunning garden beds. After dark you can explore the illuminated wonderland that is Floriade NightFest, ride the Ferris wheel, see a comedy show and admire the flower beds all lit up.”
