The Museum comprising over 330,000 items of international, national, regional and local significance. They cover natural sciences, archaeology, ethnography, social history and local history. Large archives are held, the most important of which are papers relating to prehistoric archaeology and pictorial records of the area. The most significant objects the Museum holds relate to prehistory and local cave sites, most notably Kent’s Cavern.'”
