Wander around this monastery founded by French monks from Provence, who established here the first charter-house on the Iberian peninsular. They chose one of the most beautiful places to site the monastery, at the foothills of the Montsant mountain range, where a shepherd had dreamt of angels coming down from the sky on a ladder resting on a tall pine tree. es importante pasear , conocer su historia y conocer como vivian los monjes cartujanos, esta en el la zona llamada el priorato, donde cultuvan l viñas, se puede degustar buenos vinos y comer muy bien

Este antiguo monasterio y cartuja fue fundado en el siglo XII por Alfons el Cast y fue la primera que se construyo en territorio peninsular. La arquitectura románica, gótica, bárroca y neoclásica se fundieron en el conjunto a lo largo de los siglos. Su influencia contribuyo en gran manera a la actual configuración del territorio en el que se asienta: el Priorat.
