Same owner as Gene McCarthy's and right down the road from it. Former funeral house (get it?) turned artsy cafe. Same attention to detail as the restaurant, just a tad pricey.

They honor the dead here with novelty mugs. The menu has so many delicious options and the ability to craft your own breakfast, brunch and lunch sandwiches and salads. It is located in a historically and current bleu collar working class neighborhood called the first ward. I mentored teens in this neighborhood and also appreciated its tenacity. The coffee shop hosts business folks from the neighboring business centers at what is known as Larkinville.
