The Arboretum is a great place for a stroll, especially for horticulture fans. Beautiful Japanese Garden here.
Rent a canoe or row boat for $10/hour+ from the University. Row through the arboretum for a once in a lifetime experience that most locals don't even know about. If you're into Geocaching there's one under the freeway too, just don't fall in it's cold water.
Owned and maintained by the University of WA, the arboretum has been undergoing renovations to create zonal gardens from other climates and countries. Worth a walk through the trails and/or along the lake. Kayaks and Canoes are rented at the University activity center, lakeside of Husky Stadium.
This park has miles and miles of walkable and wheelchair accessible trails. Trees and plants from around the world flowering & blooming at different times of the year.
Taking a stroll through the Arboretum is an amazing way to spend a beautiful day - also visiting the Japanese Garden inside!
