The Observatory has been justly famous for decades as the location from Rebel Without A Cause. And a little less so for Steve Martin’s Bowfinger. With the release of La La Land, which has a whole musical number here, this location will be rediscovered by a whole new generation of movie lovers. Be sure to check out the bust of James Dean on the west side of the lawn outside the observatory. Also, for real star sightings: Go inside for the planetarium.

Such a beautiful place to not only have an amazing view of Los Angeles/ Hollywood Sign but to explore the museum and leave about space and different planets in our solar system.
Griffith Observatory is an observatory in Los Angeles that delivers an impressive 360 view from Downtown LA to the Pacific Ocean. Breathtaking views from every angle. An extensive array of space and science-ralated displays. Admission has been free since the observatory's opening in 1935. This is a must and if one has time we suggest exploring the mass Griffith park and all its wonder that it has to offer including the LA Zoo as well as the Gene Autry Museum.
