If you are a fan of great atmosphere and great gelato, Giolitti demands to be seen. This is also among my top three locations. Giolitti is a throwback ice cream parlor with Gelato instead. The gelato counter is just one counter among many in this anything goes sugar shop. The shop has the feel of a…
Rome has no shortage of excellent gelaterias. Giolitti, a few blocks from the Pantheon, is the city’s best old-school gelateria.Traditional and imperdible.
Giolitti is the oldest ice cream shop in Rome. It was founded in 1890. Perfect ice cream, of great tradition.
Giolitti is a well-known café and pastry shop, and reportedly the oldest ice cream parlor[1] in Rome, Italy. It was founded in 1890 by Giuseppe and Bernardina Giolitti and operates at two locations: via Uffici del Vicario near the Pantheon and in E.U.R.. It is still owned by the same family.

“When in Rome, you must drink espresso. Drip coffee and Starbucks don’t exist here. There are some unspoken rules if you don’t want to look like a tourist when ordering. First, cappuccinos are only drunk at breakfast. After that, order un caffè(a shot of espresso) or un caffè macchiato (a shot of espresso with a dollop of steamed milk). If you ask for a latte, you’ll simply get milk. In the hotter months, ask for un caffè freddo (cold espresso sweetened with loads of sugar) or crema di caffè (the Roman equivalent of a frappuccino). Two of the most famous cafés are Tazza d’Oro and Caffè Sant’Eustachio.”

Italiensk restaurang
“Historic tavern since 1961 a stone's throw from the wonderful Pantheon. the specialties are those typical of Rome, with a sensitivity to the quality of raw materials. Alongside the "Bollitto alla Picchiapò", the Artichoke alla Romana, the Baccalà and, of course, the Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe and Amatriciana, one of the dishes to taste is the Armando-style meatballs, which are indeed a dish of the Capitoline tradition.”

“Definitely my favourite. You are not able to order your meal as you will be offered only what Mrs. Paola cooks each day at the fixed price of €25 only. Don't worry, you will be fine! It's at 6 min. walking”

“La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro could be mistaken for a tourist trap because of its location right in front of the Pantheon, but it’s far from it. “Just go there after 7pm or early in the mornings, and the tourists should be gone,” says Barbieri. Romans love this venue, especially during the summer when it starts selling its city-famous granita – basically a coffee slushie covered in whipped cream. La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro is also a coffee snob’s favourite, selling its own roast, humbly named La Regina del Caffè (the Queen of Coffee) that the founder created in the 1950s after taking numerous trips to South America.”
