Chestnut Ridge Park is a 1,213-acre park in Orchard Park, New York, originally named for the chestnut trees on its hills. It is currently the largest park operated by the Erie County Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, and is open year-round. The Eternal Flame Falls is a small waterfall located in the Shale Creek Preserve, a section of Chestnut Ridge Park in Western New York. A small grotto at the waterfall's base emits natural gas, which can be lit to produce a small flame. This flame is visible nearly year round, although it can be extinguished and must occasionally be re-lit. Chestnut Ridge Park's winter activities include Sledding, Skiing and Tobogganing when weather permits. The Casino is open daily for restroom use only

1213 acres of hiking, fishing, picnicking, tobogganing (down big shoots and long hills!), sledding, and some of the most incredible views of WNY! Enjoy winter sports and warm up in the "Casino" with a roaring fire and hot chocolate. In the summer, hike the trail to the Eternal Flame, fish in the pond, or enjoy the view from large lazy swings atop the highest hill.
