Forest service road 12km up from the highway can be bouncy from time to time. Leave your Ferrari at home for this drive.

The Old Growth Trail starts at the Old Growth parking lot approximately 4km up the Island Lake access road. The trail tours through ancient Cedars, Douglas Fir and Spruce, finishing at the lodge. Features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from July until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
