Deopahar stone temple belongs to the period somewhere between 10th and 11th century AD. The art work and sculptures depicts scenes from the Mahabharata nad Ramayana. It is believed that the ancient stone temple's construction was either incomplete or was damaged during the Assam earthquake of 1897.
