Cecilia Metella is a huge round mausoleum later converted into a fortress. Together with of Maxentius is one of the finest sites on the Appian Way.

One of the most ancient place in Roma, close to Circo di Massenzio, green area nice to visit walking.

For heallth reasons it was forbidden to the aincient romans to bury within the Romam walls. So noble built their tombs outside of the town. The Cecilia Metalla is a very nice place to visit
