Tips från lokalbefolkningen
The Halifax Commons - Canada's oldest urban park is located near downtown Halifax and is home to the Emera Oval, sport fields, skateboard park, and more.
Large open air park. Skating oval in winter. Skates available to rent (at the time of writing, skate rentals are FREE with government ID).
The commons is a lovely park right in the centre of halifax. The Oval turns into an iceskating rink in the winter, where skates can be borrowed for free. In the summer it's the perfect spot to play, or sit in the grass with a book. Keep an ear out for free shows there as well.

“These are the oldest Public Gardens in North America. Many famous people have walked through and in the early summer, it is popular for high school students to take prom and graduation photos. If you have a camera, a nice book, or just want a place to collect your thoughts I recommend a walk through the gardens”
