University of Virginia’s famous Grounds are open to the public, and guided historical tours are offered during the academic year.
Don't miss the Rotunda, Lawn, gardens with serpentine walls, and memorial to enslaved laborers. It's a 12-minute walk or short trolley ride down Main Street to this UNESCO World Heritage Site founded as the first public university in the United States.
Book a tour, or just stroll the lawn and admire the architecture and grounds. Visit Edgar Allen Poe’s old dorm on the Lawn.
