Tips från lokalbefolkningen
very good beer shop, yet a bit pricey (unfortunately microbreweries often are). Excellent choice of beers to bring back home (400+ beers).
Beer Mania offers more than 500 artisanal beers. To savour on site, to take away or …to be delivered.

“The Sounds is a jazz institution in Brussels. And it's fair to say that it has a full programme. Every day except Sunday, blue note addicts come to hear those double basses, pianos and drums in this little space located close to Place Fernand Cocq. Wednesday is devoted to more Latino sounds. Open from 8 p.m.”

“Ramen bar / Having dinner at Yamato should be something that you really want. That’s what we love so much about this tiny place, which can only host about ten people around its open kitchen. Two benches by the window allow the hungry customers to patiently wait for their turn, while helping themselves with Japanese Manga from the shelf nearby – that is if they know how to read them.Homemade gyozas (7€ for 6), Katsu-don and Shoyu Ramen is what we go for. The Katsu-Don (14,50€), a delicious bowl of rice topped with fried bread coated slices of pork, is hearty and served so generously it’s hard for us to finish. The Shoyu broth, served with the ramen is full of flavours.A real delight completel”

“Ideal for a stop over a meal, a drink or a coffee, the Ultime Atome offers a true range of the Franco-Belgian cuisine in an Art Nouveau "revisité" decor where the atmosphere couldn’t be more cosmopolitan. It is also a not-so-typical brasserie that provides daily new suggestions, homemade recipes and dishes for eating "on the go", quick turnaround at noon for a lunch between colleagues or a pleasant setting for a sit down with friends in the evening.”

“La Maison Renardy is a real gem, lost between Matongé and the european headquarters. The dream place to drink tea or coffee, spend the whole afternoon talking while watching the rain against the windows. More than twenty different coffees, and more than a hundred types of teas, from everywhere around the world. The teapots are serverd with homemade chocolates, and a little hourglass comes with, to let you know when the tea is ready. All the teas are served by the teapot for 3,20 euros. If you choose to share one, you’ll still have at least two cups each, so its a pretty good deal. And of course, you can buy tea and coffee by weight.”
