Tips från lokalbefolkningen
A short drive or walk down the hill you will find a viewing point (half a mile down the hill on the right) where you can watch the most spectacular sunsets over Cheltenham.
Leckhampton Hill and Charlton Kings Common lie above Cheltenham and are a favourite walking spot with views out across Cheltenham, and the Severn Vale. Areas on the hill are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to the biological interest of the unimproved calcareous grassland and for its geological exposures. Historical features on the hill include an Iron Age hillfort and long barrow. Old tramways criss-cross the hill from the days of limestone quarrying and the remains of kilns and quarries are still very much in evidence.
