“Li Galli (I Galli = The Roosters), also known as "Le Sirenuse", is an archipelago of three little islands off the Amalfi Coast between Capri Island and Positano, to which they belong administratively. Their names are Gallo Lungo, which takes the form of a half-moon or a dolphin, La Castelluccia, also known as Gallo dei Briganti, and the nearly circular La Rotonda. And if you're interested in a boat tour to take a swim and go snorkeling, never mind, I'll handle it!!! The name, Li Galli, is a reference to the greek sirens, dangerous mythological creatures, said to have lived there, and enchanted the sailors who sailed in those waters, causing them to wreck against the rocks. In Greek Mythology the sirens had the appearance of a bird with a woman's head or they were also represented as female figures with the legs of birds and wings, playing many musical instruments, especially harps, lyres and flute. In many ancient and modern works it was written about the sirens, but the best known are the sirens of which Homer wrote in his famous greek epic poem, The Odyssey: the sirens, however, failed to enchant with their seductive singing voice Ulysses and his sailors who escaped the sad and deadly fate. They were right in the crystal clear waters of Campania, between Naples and Positano. Li Galli have always fascinated celebrities, as the world famous Russian dancer Rudolf Nureyev that bought the archipelago in 1989. Shortly after his death in 1993, it was sold to private owner. Today the archipelago is part of the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella. ”

“This natural cave is 25 meters wide and 60 meters long, with a tiny entrance less than a meter high. Sunlight passing through an underwater cavity and shining through the seawater creates a blue reflection that illuminates the cavern.”
