Housed in the old Cambridge sewage pumping station, and recently refurbed and extended, this museum not only tells the story of the Victorian system, but also has several galleries covering industrial heritage and its developments right up to recent times. Parking can be expensive in Cambridge: if you are visiting for the day we recommend park & ride or train.

Excellent museum a bit off the track but well worth a visit and not too much of a diversion.

If you want to get really local, this is pretty much it. This is where Cambridge used to get its sewage treated. Steam-powered energy for Cambridge also started here. Although the machinery isn't used anymore for these purposes, they are still functional. This place is open only on Sundays from March to October.
