The tower is one of the iconic views and symbols of Cornell, and it's also the home of the Cornell Chimes, which you may hear throughout the day depending on where you are in Ithaca and how the wind is blowing. Full concerts are generally played on the chimes three times a day, and if you time it right you can climb the stairs to the top, view the Lake and beyond, and experience the loudest non-electrically-amplified music you may ever hear.

this clock tower is open during daily chimes concerts (full schedule at chimes.cornell.edu). climb the 161 steps to the top for a panoramic view of town and Cayuga Lake.
