Earlier this year in the summer, my boys and I walked to the middle of the Ben Franklin Bridge. There is a pedestrian walkway that goes to Camden...great views, just a cool thing to do, unless three out of your five kids are complaining non-stop about heat and exhaustion and they need water and "Why are doing this - this is so stupid - we can just drive across the bridge, Dad."

PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY The Ben Franklin Bridge Pedestrian Walkway offers a picturesque route for walkers, runners and cyclists between Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey. In Philadelphia, access to the walkway is located at 5th and Race Street, across the street from the U.S. Mint. In New Jersey, the walkway can be accessed at 4th and Pearl Street. The walkway is open daily from 6 a.m - 8 p.m. October 1 - April 30 and 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. May 1 - September 30.

Unusual adventure Romantic scene... You can actually walk the Ben Franklin Bridge from 5th street. Its particularly amazing at sunset when all the lights of the city are gleaming.
