This is an absolute must-see in the area. A short 40 minute drive from Calvisson takes you to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pont Du Gard, a 2000 year old aqueduct built over three levels to span the river and deliver fresh water to the Roman city of Nimes. It is not only the tallest Roman Aqueduct in the world, but also the best preserved, and through one of the tours on offer you can walk along the very top where the water used to flow.

The spectacular Pont du Gard is an ancient Roman aqueduct bridge built in the first century AD to carry water to the Roman colony of Nemausus. It crosses the Gardon River near the town of Vers-Pont-du-Gard. The Pont du Gard is the highest of all Roman aqueduct bridges, and one of the best preserved. Definitely worth a visit.
