De Bosset Bridge ​​Argostoli This stone bridge was constructed in 1813 by the Swiss engineer Charles Philippe de Bosset, employed by the British, who ruled the island at that time. The bridge works till today and connects the capital town, Argostoli, to the opposite mainland of Kefalonia.

The De Bosset Bridge (formerly Drapano Bridge) is a stone bridge built in 1813 over the bay of Argostoli in Kefalonia. At 689.9 meters, it is the longest stone bridge over the sea in the world.

De Bosset bridge is the largest stone bridge on a sea water body and has been in existence since 1813,when the Swiss engineer Charles Philippe De Bosset was employed by the british army.Thanks to his contribution in the form of study and construction of the bridge,Monsier de Bosset was appointed as Governor of Kefalonia from 1810-1814 by the british who reigned the Ionian islands from 1809-1864.
